“Ahh…” I replied.

Dane was trying to make me a queen again and, as per usual, I was struggling to make the transition. Axe’s face fell as I hesitated, but for all the wrong reasons. I wanted to protest, to draw his chin up as it sank down, to bring his eyes back to mine, because it wasn’t him that was the issue. It was us. I blinked, the reality of what I’d stumbled into only just now bleeding through into my consciousness. Three men, in my bed and they—

“You want that, don’t you, Darcy?”

Dane’s crisp voice was a lifeline I clung to, as Gael’s arms went around me, his hard body pressed into mine. His mouth dropped, grazing each one of the bites on my neck long enough to make me shiver.

“You want to spread your thighs either side of Axe’s face, plant your hands down on the mattress and spare him just one look before you lower yourself down,” Dane continued.

“Lower?” Axe’s voice grew rougher, coarser, as his eyes glowed bright blue in the dim light. “I’ll pull her down on top of me so fast that all I’ll be able to taste, to smell, is her perfume.” I shifted restlessly then, almost able to feel what he described.

“But I…”

I started to explain, then flushed, the customary shame surrounding a woman’s cycle roaring up to colour my cheeks. My eyes dropped to the bed, then to my thighs, checking them surreptitiously for evidence of my flow. I hadn’t even thought about it when we’d run out here, but now…

“You’re not bleeding, love.” Gael’s voice was much gentler now, his hand sliding over my stomach.

“We would have brought supplies with us if you were, Darcy,” Dane said.

“But I…”

I didn’t explain the intricacies of my cycle, that it tended to be longer than normal bursts of bleeding, but with bigger gaps between. To be finished in a day or two was unheard of.

“But that’s not what stops you from riding my brother’s face.” Dane’s voice was crisp and clear in the cool room.

“We don’t need to… I can…”

Axe went to pull away, but my hand shot out to stop him and for a second, we both stared at my grip on him.

“If you don’t want to do this, say ‘Arden’,” Dane said. “Darcy?”

“Shut up, brother!” Axe snapped. “Not everything is a fucking game.” His massive chest heaved as he turned back to me. “You don’t have to listen to him… well, ever. Listen to me.”

That big hand reached out and tipped my chin upwards until there was no escaping his intent gaze. For a long moment, he just stared at me before his hand traced the line of my jaw.

“I’m willing to wait, for however long it takes. I want you to be ready.” His voice started strong, confident, but then inexplicably trailed away. “I want you to want to be with me. Not drunk, not tired, not under my brother’s spell. Me. I want you to want my touch.”

He went
